New York, NY (November 17, 2021) Earlier this year dancehall star Masicka announced the name of his album ‘438’ and last night shared with a few industry insiders the 16 track album.

Now to the immense joy of fans across the globe, the artist has shared the release date of Friday, Dec. 3rd, via ONERpm. The listening session hosted by ONERpm was held in the heart of Times Square, NYC, and attended by various media outlets, fellow artists, and actors including actor Michael Rainey Jr., of ‘Power’.

Giving those in attendance an insight into the inspiration of a few of the tracks, Masicka shared the meaning behind the title of the album.

“While on tour a few years ago the number 438 was always surrounding me whether hotel room, time, something about the number was always appearing. One day I decided to look it up and learned 438 is an angelic number. A number full of positive meaning, prosperity and optimism. It was just life changing experience so I just decided to name the album like that ” said Masicka.

“We are excited to be apart of the release of Masicka’s debut album ‘438’. The album is a great body of work and we know fans and dancehall enthusiasts will enjoy” says Martin Price, Director of A & R (North America & Africa) at ONErpm.

International Dancehall artiste and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star, Spice has once again tapped into her creative intellect with the release of her new single and video “Rolling”.

The “So Mi Like It” artiste released the single and video on her official Vevo channel on February 7.

Drawing her inspiration from the 1920s/ 1930s Jazz, folk, blues, and 1980’s pop, she performs and fuses the most captivating and exhilarating performance styles from those eras. She kicks off the video with her best impersonation of a leading female jazz performer before jumping into the Dancehall aspect of the video.

Throughout the video, various dance scenes take place with her Team Spice Dancers, Dancing Rebel, TC and Pretty Pretty clad in different fits that showcases an interesting 80’s vibe, and the early 21st-century dance styles were used to depict variety and creativity.

Shot and directed by Xtreme Arts, “Rolling” has managed to amass over 2,000,000 views across social media platforms within two weeks after its debut, making it one of the hottest records in February.

Paille touched his first mic when he was twelve but he decided to involve himself in making music in 2001. From an opportunity to another, 3 records later, he has been traveling all around the world for 15 years now, sharing some martinican vibes with different people.

When I was younger , I was very impressed by some martinican MC’s Like Straika D or Janik MC who made songs discribing my reality. Dancehall music is supposed to make people dance but if it can motivate people to think about a way to grow up, it’s even better.

In my opinion the Caribbean islands are crossroads of many influences, from KASSAV’ to Marc Anthony through Buju Banton or Machel Montano.

One day I received a call from Jean claude NAIMRO (one of the KASSAV leaders), asking me to write a song for him . So now I can say that I have written a single for KASSAV’. This has boosted my self esteem lol.

“DJ GIL, More than an partner he’s a friend”

I’m working with producers, beatmakers, especially with DJ GIL. We spend a lot of time in his studio, creating without limits. He’s been one of the most recognized Dj in Martinique for 15 years therefore he has developed some skills in making heavy tunes, whatever the style . Due to our friendship, I can ear his riddims before any other artist and I am able to choose beforehand.

_What does represent Carnival for you as Caribbean and artist ?

“MOROCCO was a really good experience for sure!”

A different language , a different culture , servicemen with guns but also people who want to share the vibe and have fun on caribbean rhythms .. A really good experience for sure.
I have played in many little venues at the beginning of my career , I have even sung in a nursing home and through this kind of experience, it tastes better when, several years later, you get to perform in front of 4000 or 5000 people.

“COLUMBIA was all about energy and sharing”

I think it would be huge to practice a creole concept of mine called « La Vakabonagerie » on the other Caribbean audiences such as Trini, Barbados or Jamaica . The challenge is bigger than me but it’s exactly the reason why I’m interested in it.

We are working on an album but the goal is the same as usual … To hit the road alone or with my band (big up the Red Ties Gang) and share the martinican vibe all around the world.

We have just finished the video for LOVER BOY, a song featuring Etana (the queen). She has such an amazing voice. I’m really proud of it and of the trust she has put in this song.

Andre Chavanie McCormack, Is a Jamaican born singer who artistically is known for his Dancehall, Reggae and International fusion and being an advocate for positive and inspirational music. D’yani is a comical and jovial individual, with a big heart for everyone, but most importantly women, as his love for his mother made him appreciate women more, growing up in a single parent household. He performed at various events, festivals and concerts with the song being most noted for as ‘lovers go’ at the time.

Influenced by fellow artist and friend Eva Hype, to come to the studio, it was at that point, the shift from hobby to serious interest became obvious.

During his period of college, he then became even more engulfed in the art of music, writing and performing and his writing developed into a unique blend, which fuses catchy melodies, witty lyrics and situational concepts to convey his personal experiences.

HEAVEN TELEGRAM

The song was inspired by life essentially, and how fickle it is! With that being said I wrote it with the intention of inspiring people to appreciate life and the people most important to them regardless of the circumstances because life is short and death comes fast.

My inspiration for my writing comes from everyday experiences, so essentially I am inspired by life itself. My personal experiences as well just the vibe at the time.

INFLUENCES

My musical influences are very wide, it ranges from Micheal Jackson, The Beatles, Freddie Mercury, Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, Bob Marley and onwards. With regards to today’s musical influences the range is just as wide, from the Weeknd, Miguel, Drake, Mavado, Kartel, Aidonia and onwards.

How digital communication and marketing is important for you and your team and how useful it is for your music?

Digital communication and marketing is very important for my team and I as we’ve seen first hand the reach it has especially for an upcoming artist as myself.

The shares, the reposting and endorsing has also done a lot for me.

International Dancehall/Reggae artiste Mr. Vegas was recently awarded Caribbean Artiste of the Year at the Harvard University Caribbean Club first annual Jubilee held in Boston Massachusetts, USA.

Mr. Vegas is elated that after 20 years of hit music, he is getting worldwide recognition for his hard work.

“It’s a humbling experience, to be recognized by this major institution. When people outside of Jamaica recognized the work that we are putting in, it encourages and energizes the efforts for future projects. The Harvard Caribbean Club (HCC) hosted its first annual Jubilee to commemorate their club’s 40th anniversary. The event was hosted by none other than comedian Prince Pine and featured a sit-down dinner with food from all Caribbean countries.

The Jubilee ended with an award ceremony, in which Mr Vegas was awarded, the HCC Entertainer of the Year Award.
