New York, New York, February 7th, 2023.On Sunday February 5th the Recording academy hosted the 65th annual GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles, California. Defying expectations and sparking a level of national pride by his fellow Jamaicans, Kabaka Pyramid won Best Reggae Album for ‘The Kalling’.

Still soaking in the win, 48 hours later, Kabaka Pyramid continues to process this major achievement.

“What it means to me, my career, my family, my team? You know; what it means for Reggae Music, positive music, coming out of Jamaica right now is just a joy. It’s a feeling of greatness, as I always say I would never be defined by things like these but, the recognition of the work on such a scale, in such a key market for us as the U.S. means a lot for us” says Kabaka Pyramid.

Understandably thrilled when announced the winner of the academy, Kabaka Pyramid accepted the honor with his mother by his side and his friends from high school, now managers Abishai Hoilett and Duane McDonald. Thanking his parents, team, fellow artists Kabaka Pyramid highlighted that they are “just some kids from Kingston, Jamaica”. Living their dream through hard work and staying true to who they are, achieving this great recognition by their musical peers on the world stage is a major accomplishment.

Produced by Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, the fifteen-track masterpiece released on Ghetto Youth International & Bebble Rock Music, features some of the reggae icons most frequent collaborators like Damian Marley, Protoje, Black Am I, Jesse Royal. In addition, “The Kalling” also featured some new collaborators for Kabaka Pyramid like Buju Banton, Stephen Marley, Tifa, Answele and Jemere Morgan. With productions from Kabaka Pyramid, Stephen Marley, and Young Pow, “The Kalling” was a family effort putting together a symphony of excellent songs.

New York, NY June 3, 2022. With a groovy new bop about the intricacies of an unequal love affair, Ce’Cile enters the 2022 music space in fine style. The new single, aptly titled Cherish My Loving is a cautionary tale against taking the love of a good woman for granted and is scheduled for release on June 3rd. The track, which is produced by Ce’Cile herself and Matthew “Keely” Keaveny, is charming in its melody and rhythm but relatable in its storytelling. It features Bahamian artist Padrino, who adds his own flavor to the mix of sound and story.

As one of Jamaica’s most consistent and beloved leading ladies in music, Ce’Cile has thrilled audiences locally and abroad for years. Hit singles like Can You Do Di Wuk with Sean Paul, Hot Like We, and Gold Dust, stand as testament to the space she has carved for herself in dancehall/reggae music. Ce’Cile changed the landscape of dancehall music by blending the sweet sultry melodies she’s known for, with the spicy patois Deejay style popularized in the dancehall. Her debut album Bad Gyal earned her the signature moniker that has helped to distinguish the particular brand of music she presents. Albums like Jamaicanization, released in 2011, Still Running, Diary Of A Journey, Music & Magic and most recently Sophisticated in 2021, serve as key moments in her musical voyage.

In 2021 Ce’Cile also published her first children’s book, titled “My Hair Story” geared at encouraging young black children to love themselves, and embrace their differences including that of their coil. With a passion for writing and reading, dancehall’s Bad Gyal intends to publish a whole suite of song and poetry books to add. Ce’Cile has worked with elite artists and producers like Trina, Shaggy, FloRida, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Agent Sasco, Sean Paul, Gavin Rossdale, Chronixx & Nina Sky to name a few.

This latest single Cherish My Loving is great ear candy and comes fitted with a visually enticing music video set for release on the same day. This official music video is directed and produced by the world-famous Jay Will. “I had intended the song to be released in February for my birthday and black history / reggae month but I also wanted to release the video and song together so I had to push back the release date to get Jay Will involve in the project because I also knew what I wanted the video to look like and I knew Jay Will could give me the feel I wanted.” Ce’Cile says about the new single and video.

Tiffany Levy, born October 29, 1993 in Kingston, Jamaica is an only child to both parents. The gospel songstress attended The Queen’s School in Kingston.

I’M READY

Her June 2019 ‘I’m Ready’ EP was Tiffany’s true introduction to the local gospel music space.

Tiffany has since copped several awards. The song Give A Little won the Best Song Writer award in Antigua and Barbuda Gospel Awards 2020 and an award in 2020 for breakout sensation at the Sterling Gospel Awards in Jamaica. In 2021, in the midst of the global pandemic, she also won the award for Video of the Year for the song Love Me Anyway and the Best Female Reggae Artist of the year at the Atlanta Hip Hop awards 2021.

THE LAST SONG

Following the successful release of Tiffany’s 2019 debut EP ‘I’m Ready’, she is set to release the first single titled The Last Song from her sophomore EP.

“The video seeks to give a voice to the voiceless and hope to the hopeless” — Tiffany.

The Last Song, which is a touching ballad, and which happens to be the last song on the album, speaks about struggles, redemption, and overcoming challenges, to which most if not all persons can relate.

Distributed by Empire, the lyric video for the track features three members of the deaf community interpreting the song in Jamaica Sign Language form, which will premiere on the singer’s official YouTube channel.

New York, NY (November 17, 2021) Earlier this year dancehall star Masicka announced the name of his album ‘438’ and last night shared with a few industry insiders the 16 track album.

Now to the immense joy of fans across the globe, the artist has shared the release date of Friday, Dec. 3rd, via ONERpm. The listening session hosted by ONERpm was held in the heart of Times Square, NYC, and attended by various media outlets, fellow artists, and actors including actor Michael Rainey Jr., of ‘Power’.

Giving those in attendance an insight into the inspiration of a few of the tracks, Masicka shared the meaning behind the title of the album.

“While on tour a few years ago the number 438 was always surrounding me whether hotel room, time, something about the number was always appearing. One day I decided to look it up and learned 438 is an angelic number. A number full of positive meaning, prosperity and optimism. It was just life changing experience so I just decided to name the album like that ” said Masicka.

“We are excited to be apart of the release of Masicka’s debut album ‘438’. The album is a great body of work and we know fans and dancehall enthusiasts will enjoy” says Martin Price, Director of A & R (North America & Africa) at ONErpm.

International Dancehall artiste and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star, Spice has once again tapped into her creative intellect with the release of her new single and video “Rolling”.

The “So Mi Like It” artiste released the single and video on her official Vevo channel on February 7.

Drawing her inspiration from the 1920s/ 1930s Jazz, folk, blues, and 1980’s pop, she performs and fuses the most captivating and exhilarating performance styles from those eras. She kicks off the video with her best impersonation of a leading female jazz performer before jumping into the Dancehall aspect of the video.

Throughout the video, various dance scenes take place with her Team Spice Dancers, Dancing Rebel, TC and Pretty Pretty clad in different fits that showcases an interesting 80’s vibe, and the early 21st-century dance styles were used to depict variety and creativity.

Shot and directed by Xtreme Arts, “Rolling” has managed to amass over 2,000,000 views across social media platforms within two weeks after its debut, making it one of the hottest records in February.

Andre Chavanie McCormack, Is a Jamaican born singer who artistically is known for his Dancehall, Reggae and International fusion and being an advocate for positive and inspirational music. D’yani is a comical and jovial individual, with a big heart for everyone, but most importantly women, as his love for his mother made him appreciate women more, growing up in a single parent household. He performed at various events, festivals and concerts with the song being most noted for as ‘lovers go’ at the time.

Influenced by fellow artist and friend Eva Hype, to come to the studio, it was at that point, the shift from hobby to serious interest became obvious.

During his period of college, he then became even more engulfed in the art of music, writing and performing and his writing developed into a unique blend, which fuses catchy melodies, witty lyrics and situational concepts to convey his personal experiences.

The song was inspired by life essentially, and how fickle it is! With that being said I wrote it with the intention of inspiring people to appreciate life and the people most important to them regardless of the circumstances because life is short and death comes fast.

My inspiration for my writing comes from everyday experiences, so essentially I am inspired by life itself. My personal experiences as well just the vibe at the time.

My musical influences are very wide, it ranges from Micheal Jackson, The Beatles, Freddie Mercury, Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, Bob Marley and onwards. With regards to today’s musical influences the range is just as wide, from the Weeknd, Miguel, Drake, Mavado, Kartel, Aidonia and onwards.
